At one point the man asked where Thomas' kids were, and that's when she reportedly confessed to having drowned them in a bathtub two days before. Thomas allegedly told an acquaintance that she drowned her children in a bathtub and then left them under a neighbor's home when she found burying them to be too hard, Houston police spokesman Kese Smith told reporters. The Syrian Democratic Forces, an alliance of Arab and Kurdish fighters backed by USA air power, announced on Sunday "the creation of the Al-Bab Military Council", with the aim of liberating the town and the region around it. The SDF began an assault in May on Manbij, on a key jihadist supply route between the Turkish border and I.S.'s de facto Syrian capital Raqa. The SDF launched its offensive in late May to capture Manbij, and was supported by USA -led airstrikes. (more...)

MILWAUKEE-Tension flared again overnight in Milwaukee, with one person shot and a police officer injured in the second night of riots triggered by the fatal shooting of a suspect by an officer. At some point during the brief chase, Smith turned toward the officer with the gun in his hand, Flynn said, citing the video. The mayor told the Telegraph that the incident started when a tourist took a photo of women wearing burkinis. The burkini bans have sparked controversy as tensions have grown this northern summer between Muslims of North African origin and others in communities in the south of France, in particular after the massacre of 85 people in Nice a month ago by a Tunisian truck driver. Best said the water is still rising. Approximately 18,000 people have been rescued so far from the flooding, Bryan Lee of the Louisiana State Police confirmed to ABC News. The City of Baton Rouge allowed the state to open the River Center as a shelter Sunday night. Walters said the Red Cross is also looking for volunteers. (more...)

Police said: "According to current information a 27-year-old Swiss man poured out a flammable liquid". They said the suspect was not known to police prior to the attack. In May at a train station in the German state of Bavaria, a 27-year-old German man who had been in psychiatric care stabbed commuters, killing one and wounding three others before being apprehended by police. Officer Smith went to the intersection of Smith St. and Main St.in Eastman, where investigators say noticed a person in the area. Though Smith returned fire, the person got away and Smith later died from his wounds at a nearby hospital. Anyone with any information on the shooting can call the GBI Eastman office at 478-374-6988. A Marietta police spokesperson said one of the two juveniles was wounded in the shootout. (more...)

Boko Haram has released a video of the Nigerian schoolgirls allegedly kidnapped two years ago , showing some who are still alive and claiming others were killed in air strikes. Civilians in Syria are shaving off their beards, burning their burqas, smoking and dancing on streets of Manbij, after they got freedom from ISIS.
