South Korea's military said North Korea fired what appeared to be a submarine-launched ballistic missile on July 9 but the launch failed in the early stages of flight. Speaking to the news agency Kyodo, the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe called the launch a "clear challenge" of United Nations resolutions. North Korea has test-fired what appears to be a submarine-launched ballistic missile off its eastern coast, South Korea has said. (more...)

Victor Barrio , 29, died after a 1,166-pound bull flipped him and gored him in the thigh and chest. Another Spaniard was gored to death by the animal, this time during a bull run in Pedreguer. The professional matador was pronounced dead by a surgeon at the Teruel bullring. The 32-year-old journalist also posted a poem by Spanish poet Jose Leon, which concludes with the line: "'How I would love to believe that there is glory for all those who lose their lives on the horns of bulls". On Thursday, Syrian government forces and their allies pushed into an area north of the city of Aleppo , threatening a key supply line for the city's opposition-held quarters and setting off intense clashes with rebels, activists said. Forest Service land and officials required the evacuation . Sullivan said the fire is believed to have been caused by lightning. People evacuating can go to the Howard Fire Department, the sheriff's office said. There are no immediate threats at this time.
