Footage filmed by Sea-Watch, a non-governmental organisation, showed a Libyan coastguard vessel coming within metres of its own ship as it sped to stop the migrants. The government's refugee agency says several hundred migrants have been transported by buses to asylum centers outside the capital. The state of the detention centres in Libya have been repeatedly criticised, and many are privately run by smugglers with little no access for the global community. (more...)
