Nissan says there is more seat adjustment for the driver, plus a fully adjustable steering wheel. Of course, practicality hasn't been forgotten either - Nissan claims that the large body, longer wheelbase and wider cabin mean that the new Micra is far roomier and more useable than the outgoing, rather unloved version. The Union County bomb squad's robotic device was "cutting into the device" and suddenly it went off . Investigators were trying to determine if the occupants of the SUV were about to drive out of town or take a plane, sources said. The explosive device blew up when a bomb squad robot cut a wire on the mechanism, one of as many as five potential bombs found at the site, officials said. (more...)

Brent crude futures (LCOc1) settled up 95 cents, or 2 percent , at $46.83 per barrel. US crude was up 88 cents, or about 2 percent , at $43.91 a barrel. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 45 cents, or 1 per cent, to $43.75. Algeria has been pushing for oil to be stabilized at around $60 a barrel. (more...)

Under-promise and then over-deliver is a well-worn tactic to boost one's fortunes, with OPEC's somewhat woolly promise to cut crude oil output the latest example of this strategy. Russian Federation participated in the Algiers talks, but it's not party to the OPEC deal. The real culprit here is Saudi Arabia. The train carrying hundreds of passengers was cruising into the station at higher speeds than normal. The National Transportation Safety Board has also dispatched a team of investigators to assess the damage, and has launched an investigation into the surrounding circumstances that led to the train crash. Oil prices collapsed from peaks of more than $100 a barrel in mid-2014 to near 13-year lows of less than $30 in January.
