The official Black Friday Sale 2015 date is not until November 27, a day after Thanksgiving. Amazon is encouraging shoppers to use its mobile app and Prime service during the Black Friday eight-day event. Norfolk Southern Corp. took control of DE & Hudson Railway Co.'s assets in Northeast Pennsylvania in September as part of its $217 million acquisition of 283 miles of D&H line between Sunbury and Schenectady, New York, from Canadian Pacific Railway . Timmer went on to say that working at JFK opens the door for advancement opportunities, but the current working conditions are "unbearable". The striking workers are not employed by the airport or airline directly. They are contract workers who earn about $12 an hour. Despite urging by a few commissioners to follow restaurants and the state of NY to extend a $15 an hour minimum wage to a few workers, other commissioners said they need to hear an analysis of the effects of a raise. A nurse from the Passport Health agency will come to each customer's location, and give free flu vaccinations to up to 10 people there. The initiative was brought to Uber by John Brownstein, director of the Computational Epidemiology Group at Boston Children's Hospital, who spearheaded an Uber pilot program for flu shots a year ago and was announced as an UberHealth advisor this week. Pets can still be shipped via Delta Cargo - though that can be costly and less convenient. With the latest change , pets can still travel in the passenger cabin, except for in business class known as Delta One. Picking up a pet will also occur at a Delta Cargo location. With the change effective March 1, customers will be able to travel with a pet as checked baggage through February 29. (more...)

More than 200 opponents to LGBT protections rallied at the statehouse on Tuesday , voicing their opposition to the measure. They want "sexual orientation, gender identity" added to the Civil Rights Act. The bill also addresses gay marriage and states that no local agency may refuse to issue or withhold a marriage license or permit. Bonds of their Samarco Mineracao iron-ore venture tumbled 6.6 cents to 76.8 cents on the U.S. dollar. A deafening clap was the only hint they got that a sea of viscous, clay-red mud was about to hit. Samarco said mine operators detected a tremor shortly before the dam burst, but an exact cause of the disaster is unclear. A few deaths have been reported and dozens are said to be injured. (more...)

The state patrol says the driver who hit her was taken into custody, but investigators haven't released details about the crash. Patrol spokesman Tim Sutherland did not release the name of the trooper. Jursevics was investigating a minor crash just before 9:30 p.m. local time Sunday when she was hit by a vehicle, officials confirmed.
