Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan, expected to be sworn in as Pakistan's new premier next week, on Friday called for the resumption of dialogue with India on all outstanding issues, including Kashmir.

Pakistan's Prime Minister-in-waiting Imran Khan has said his government will build a more "balanced and trustworthy" relationship with the USA, asserting that the trust deficit between the two countries has resulted in many ups and downs in the bilateral ties.

PTI emerged victorious in the July 25 elections, the country's second-ever democratic transition of power, but fell short of an outright majority.

Imran had defeated former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in NA-53 Islamabad, bagging 92,891 votes in contrast to the PML-N leader's 44,314 votes.

"Do not use such language in the future", a four-member bench of the Pak election commission headed by the chief election commissioner warned the four leaders while accepting their apologies.

On July 25, Khan was seen publicly stamping the ballot paper on the table with TV cameras filming him, instead of going behind the voting screen to cast his vote in secrecy.

On Thursday, Babar Awan, the counsel for Imran Khan, contended that there were scores of people when Imran Khan arrived at the polling booth, following which the screens meant to keep the procedure secret were dispersed and so his client cast his vote publicly.

"I was told to put my ballot on a table and stamp it when I asked the staffers present there about where to mark the ballot", Khan told the ECP. The Election Commission said a notification will now be issued for Khan's victory from the NA-53 constituency in Islamabad.

According to Javed, the oath-taking will take place on August 18. Following the triumph, the 65-year-old veteran was also crowned as the Honourable Prime Minister of the nation. According to the election act, a person can be given a six-month jail sentence and/or fine of Rs 1,000 for not casting his/her vote in secrecy. Khan won all five National Assembly constituencies that he had contested from in the polls.

On the first day, the newly-elected members will take oath of their office.
