Man United target Harry Maguire won't move in January - Leicester's Ben Chiwell

Leicester City manager Claude Puel has to decide whether to include Jamie Vardy and Harry Maguire for their Premier League opener against Manchester United on Friday night according to the BBC Sport website.

Puel outlined some of the qualities he thought made Maguire of interest to United.

"He is a Leicester player, he wants to play for Leicester".

"We have had good talks with Harry and with the chairman and we can not change things just before the first game of the season and just before the end of the transfer window". Coming from Man City to Leicester and playing against Man United I think the City fans are going to support us in that game.

'It was his first season with Leicester and it's important, and he understands this, that he remains with the club for the owner for a new season and we will see after that'. Of course I am happy about his performance and the performance of the other players. "It would have been a good reward for our play". We have to prepare for this season with good possibilities'.

Leicester were not reportedly looking at Benkovic as a replacement for Maguire, but there are indications that Soyuncu's imminent arrival is about to change their plans. It is not serious'.

One of the Three Lions' standout performers at the World Cup, the 25-year-old was strongly linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium just a year after arriving from Hull.

It is understood Maguire has been hoping United would come in with an offer for him before the window closed, though Puel has outlined how Leicester can not lose any more top players.

It was too little too late for Leicester but Puel felt his side deserved more from their trip to Manchester, where James Maddison, Ricardo Pereira and Rachid Ghezzal debuted.
