Man Utd transfer news Jose Mourinho United

Bayern Munich stars Franck Ribery and David Alaba have urged Jerome Boateng to reject the advances of Manchester United.

However, it's Manchester United who have stolen a march on their rivals as Jose Mourinho looks to reinforce his defence ahead of the season's curtain raiser this weekend.

And United's performance in Bavaria will do little to fill Mourinho with confidence as his team slumped to a 1-0 defeat and recorded some embarrassing statistics.

"The other clubs who compete with us are really strong and already have fantastic teams".

The Frenchman was said to have rejoined with the squad following the hard birth his partner had that kept him out of previous pre-season fixtures.

"My CEO knows what I want and I still have a few days to wait and see what happens", Mourinho said on MUTV.

The Mirror reported over the weekend that United are ready to approach Chelsea to offer them a swap deal involving Martial and Willian as Mourinho is prepared to trade the unsettled French worldwide to sign one of his long-term targets.

Sportsmail reported last week that the 29-year-old had been offered to United after his move to Paris Saint-Germain collapsed.

The delay and stand-off in this move has frustrated Mourinho, with good reason; Bale is certain to remain in Spain and Willian, who was with the Chelsea squad in yesterday's losing Community Shield attempt, has now declared that he has no intention to leave Stamford Bridge.

To me, he's one of the best central defenders in the world'.

But despite the high chance of Boateng leaving, Ribery and Alaba both want him to stay put at the Allianz Arena.
