Barcelona and Raiola working on €100m deal for Pogba

Man Utd transfer news

During France's World Cup celebrations, Pogba didn't forget about his former teammate.

Rumours are now circling again, with Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo claiming Barcelona submitted a €50m offer for Pogba on Monday.

The World Cup winning midfielder returned to United in 2016 following a spell in Italy with Juventus. Jose Mourinho is happy to sell Pogba, after the 25-year-old fell out with him over the course of last season.

With less than a week to go in the English transfer window, it seems unlikely that United will sell Pogba, especially with Nemanja Matic out after surgery on his knee.

According to an ESPN report, the 25-year-old French worldwide has become "unsettled" at Manchester United, in large part due to public criticism he received from manager Jose Mourinho over the summer.

The contract also allows for United to unilaterally extend the deal by another year should things improve at the club between the players, manager and board.

Elsewhere, Wayne Rooney hopes United can mount a Premier League challenge against Manchester City but admitted they need two more signings to do so.

United can still receive offers for players after Thursday, but will not be able to pursue targets to replace Pogba.

Manchester United are hell-bent on keeping Pogba and won't even entertain an offer that's not in the ballpark of £200 million.

His agent Mino Raiola declined to comment on the situation when contacted on Tuesday, saying: "I will never make declarations about Paul".

As far as Manchester United are concerned, their defense could use some improvements.

The Mail reports that Pogba has sent United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward a message to inform him of his decision. Let us know what you think by leaving a comment below.
