'Bachelorette' finale: Becca Kufrin chooses Garrett Yrigoyen

Bachelorette Becca Kufrin picks her man and Bachelor Nation does not approve

"I thought what we had was real".

In the meantime, let's take a look at the highlights of the finale. He's super sweaty and putting off a major cocaine vibe, but he has no choice but to meet Becca's family at this point.

Kufrin, 28, said it was hard to see the negativity surrounding the man she's in love with while they were keeping their engagement a secret so the show could play out. And so it played out with Garrett and Blake. Garrett assures Uncle Chuck that Becca knows he has emotions. Blake and Becca then rehash their conversation, minus the crying.

"It was tough because it wasn't just affecting me, but it was affecting her", Garrett said.

"For a while I have been in love with Blake", Kufrin revealed.

"I'm really sorry I didn't mean to offend anybody, but now I know the weight that a like holds on Instagram and things like that, so we just addressed it, her and I", he said.

Becca Kufrin and Garrett Yrigoyen are engaged-and suddenly, all of the hunk's past controversies are resurfacing.

Becca's family rifles off a series of clichés to prepare her for her final dates before both guys are pressured into proposing to her.

And there might be hope for the much-loved grocery store owner after-all, with Bachelor alum Bibiana Julian showing her keen interest in him. "Wait", she said. It was a no.

Becca kicks off the show by saying "there's one girl left", which isn't at all how this thing works, and I worry that this mind-numbing season has literally numbed her mind.

Oh, so Garrett's done then?

Becca begs her family to treat Blake exactly the same way they treated Garrett, so Emily does her best to make Blake cry. He was the most confident going into the proposal.

Okay, Harrison, we'll give that one to you - that was pretty brutal. And, you know, he didn't mean it. "I didn't expect this", he said, as the camera eagerly zoomed in on the mix of extreme sweat and tears. Emily told Kufrin that Horstmann would challenge her and make a good teammate.

Garrett Yrigoyen may have won Becca Kufrin's heart on "The Bachelorette", but a scandal that broke out while the show was airing had him seriously anxious he'd lose it.

"We're near water so I assume something with water", he says with a s--eating grin.

Honestly? It was sad, but I found Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s blindside of Becca and Rachel Lindsay's breakup with Peter Kraus more uncomfortable to watch. I think you are making a mistake. Even Becca's rhetoric is couched to respond to the soul mate aspect - "I got to see who he is, his heart, his soul" - while letting her completely avoid the beliefs in question. Again, I say: Ouch. She takes a deep breath and says, nah. Blake is stunned.

She told Yrigoyen he was the first guy who she wrote about in her journal and that he reminded her of her dad. He's gonna stand by me every single day. We don't have social media. But the Instagram brouhaha also had the effect of essentially spoiling the season: The amount of immediate blowback from those involved with the show, including a full interview with Becca on the topic and a carefully worded apology from Garrett, suggested he was the season's victor.
