Apparently parents are paying $20 an hour for ‘Fortnite’ tutors

Parents Are Now Hiring

If you are unfamiliar with Fortnite, it is a free-to-play video game. That's where the money is, ain't it?

Logan Werner, an 18 year-old who's getting paid to finesse kids' Fortnite skills, said it's "surreal" that people are willing to spend money on a hobby that, in his experience, many adults tend to view as a waste of valuable time. And the paid Fortnite coaching sessions helped them in feeling better. And these parents are serious: they actually want to help their children get better at playing a video game. She purchased four hours of Fortnite tutoring for around $50.

Some parents are reportedly paying up to $20 per hour to give their kids "Fortnite" tutorials.

For many parents, they say that hiring a coach for video games isn't any different than hiring a coach or expert for their kids to play basketball or hockey.

Fortnite has taken the world by storm since it was released in 2017 - and now boasts over 125million players worldwide. Another parent, Nick Mennen, said that coaching had helped his son rack up multiple wins a day in the battle royale. Epic Games' battle royale sensation Fortnite is one of the most popular games around the globe right now and people are investing in coaches in the same way they would for academics and sports. "I want them to excel at what they enjoy", explained dad Euan Robertson, who's paying for lessons for his two sons. She also explained the pressure isn't only on playing the game, but to be good at playing it, too. "You can imagine what that was like for him at school", Ally Hicks, a project manager with a ten-year-old son, told WSJ.

Unfortunately, this whole tutoring thing means it's going to be even harder for me to get Victory Royales going forward!
