Android P will land on August 20, according to EVLeaks

Reports are surfacing that Google will launch both Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL in October/November when the Android P is finally released because in the test the Pixel 3 XL is running Android P.

According to popular tipster Evan Blass, the tech giant will launch the final version of Android P on August 20.

Google may announce the final build of its upcoming Android OS, Android P on August 20. The benchmark listing re-confirms that the Pixel 3 XL will come with Android 9 or Android P - Google's next Android operating system.

Pixel-series devices are generally the first to receive all major Android updates and they were said to receive the update by Q3 of 2018.

Google has been very open about future versions of Android software recently, not only opening up the software to developers, but publicly releasing a beta so that those with compatible phones can have a play.

Android P is the next big thing for Android smartphones around the world.

Google is yet to confirm what the P in Android P stands for, though key sources suggest that the next version of Android could be called Android Pistachio.

The timing would be consistent with how Google's handled Android updates in the past. Through Android Jetpack, a set of app-building tools, developers can reach users across 95% of Android devices.

Google pulled smart technology from its AI research company DeepMind to create Adaptive Battery.

Android P will not have a drastic amount of visual changes like when we saw with the jump from KitKat to Lolipop.

This is the first time Google's letting multiple devices try the next version of Android early. The overall experience, despite the usual bugs and minor glitches in the software, was pleasant and it was mainly due to the total overhaul in terms of UI design, features, and new swipe gestures.
