Man City will only make move for ‘special talent’ -Guardiola

Manchester City announce new Gabriel Jesus contract with brilliant video

The former Wigan Athletic ace who converted a penalty for the Super Eagles at the World cup in Russian Federation is being tipped to lift the Blues even as new coach Maurizio Sarri is hoping to win a title even before his first season at the Stamford Bridge.

Manchester City have requested a work permit for the Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz after he forced his way into Pep Guardiola's plans.

Guardiola praised Sarri last season when Man City met Napoli in the group stages of the Champions League and has now backed the 59-year-old to revolutionise the English game, stating that he will from the Italian's methods.

Another London-based manager who expects one of his star players to stay is Chelsea's Maurizio Sarri.

"I don't know the hunger we have", he said on the eve of the FA Community Shield clash with FA Cup winners Chelsea.

Sarri is pleased with his current squad so far, however, and thinks that just one more recruit will be enough to head into the new Premier League campaign.

Chelsea have lost each of their last two games against Manchester City - they haven't lost three in succession against them since September 2010.

"First of all I'm happy that a manager of that level is in the Premier League". But in the end, Jorginho decided [to join Chelsea].

"After winning the title early last season we played good - except one game against Huddersfield when we were so exhausted - the others we were there".

Sarri has only been in his new position since July 14 and will still be fine-tuning his approach and looking at players who could make an impact. And in other competitions, the FA Cup and Champions League always we can do better.

Guardiola admitted the match comes at a tricky time without his full complement of players but said City were prepared and would target their fifth Community Shield win. I lived this at Barca and Bayern and we were able to repeat.

"I think he has the potential to stay with us, play with us and improve with us". After winning the players can have the "I'm really good" mentality but that's the moment you go down.
