The bodyguard reportedly rushed to Lovato's side and propped her up, as well as attempted to clear her airways so she could breathe.

TMZ reports that Demi Lovato was in such poor health when she overdosed that her assistant thought she had died.

According to a People source on Friday, the decision to get help was "her choice", and it was not "forced". When EMTs arrived they gave her Narcan, which reverses the effects of an opioid overdose.

A source previously told Entertainment Tonight that Demi was serious about getting back on track with her sobriety.

We're still sending all our love and well wishes to Demi and her family at this hard time. "The bodyguard administered some sort of first aid to keep Demi alive before paramedics arrived".

Insiders told the site that there was vomit and blood on Lovato's pillow, a sign of hemorrhaging.

Demi's been at Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles for over a week after allegedly overdosing at her home, and fans have been wondering what her next step is going to be.

And since her hospitalization, there's been reports that Demi has been suffering complications, so hopefully this new information means that Demi is finally on the mend and on the road to recovery. In June, she released a song called "Sober" about a relapse after six years of sobriety.
