Huawei set to leapfrog Samsung Galaxy X with world’s first foldable phone

Samsung Teases Galaxy Note 9's Bigger Battery Ahead of Launch

Both reports came out separate to one another, and report the same information, making this Epic-Samsung deal more likely.

Samsung has two flagship lineups that it updates annually, the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series.

Now, regular readers to T3 will recall that the idea that Huawei could beat Samsung to market with a folding phone is not new, as we reported on the potential Galaxy X killer back in April this year. The first of these focuses on battery life and the nightmare that is running out of juice while away from home.

Apart from the official teasers, according to the infamous leaker Roland Quandt, the preorders to the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will begin on August 23, 2018.

Of course, the last time Samsung tried to put a big battery into a Galaxy phone, it notoriously didn't go so well.

Samsung Display has shared a video showing off a new "unbreakable OLED panel". The company is also said to have enhanced the sunlight readability on device's super AMOLED display.

On the other hand, Samsung phones headed towards India and Russian Federation, among other global markets will house an Exynos 9820 octa-core processor. As well as a protective case which also doubles as a stand for the Galaxy Note 9, shown in black and grey.

The Galaxy Note 9's launch event is less than two weeks away, but someone out there was already able to test the handset out in the wild, complete with supervision from a representative familiar with all the new Note tricks. There have been reports of Samsung moving to 128GB internal storage for the base variant of the Galaxy Note 9, up from 64GB inside the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy Note 8.

Huawei may beat Samsung in the race to launch the world's first truly foldable smartphone.
