'Fortnite' Season 5 Adds New Locations, ATK Vehicle And Rifts

Fortnite season 5 adds all-terrain kart and new places to explore with it [Video]

Fortnite is bringing a mad, mad world to season 5 - and we're not talking about a certain Mad Titan rampaging about. It also appears to draw from the God of Thunder with the armor and cape, though all of this could ultimately be a coincidence, but the name Ragnarok makes this hard to believe following the release of Thor: Ragnarok. There is a new "Desert" biome and two new locations, Paradise Palms and Lazy Links.

It sounds like there will be a ton of new stuff to discover on the map, and the new All Terrain Kart will be ideal for exploration with your squad. There's a lot to go over in the patch notes but some of the most notable new additions to the game will be the new All Terrain Kart (ATK) and Rifts that will be dotted around the battle royale map. If that wasn't enough, the roof also acts as a bounce pad.

The patch notes also tease new Rifts that can be interacted with. "You're in for a wild ride".

Heavy shotguns now fire ten pellets rather than five, but the overall damage of the shot is unchanged, meaning that each individual pellet now does half the damage it did before, but there are twice as many.

One of the biggest gameplay adjustments involves the shotgun, with the development team creating a short amount of time between switching between two of the weapon.

Weekly challenges are available for anyone who purchases the Season 5 Battle Pass, which can be had for 950 in-game "V-Bucks", or roughly $10.

The endgame will behave a bit differently now, as well, as the center of storm circles seven, eight, and nine can now shift in random directions. As these storms close in, they will move and shrink to new locations, which is going to cause quite the panic in those later match stages.
