Real Madrid have issued a strong denial after reports in Spain claimed a world-record offer has been made to Paris Saint-Germain to buy Neymar.

Marca claim that Juventus are close to agreeing basic terms with Ronaldo which would see him earn €30m a year until 2022 - €5m a year more than Real have offered him, and on an extended deal which would take him through to the age of 37.

Ronaldo is impressed by the proposal - and has assured Agnelli he has a commitment from Real that his €1bn buyout clause will be dramatically slashed this summer.

However, as he gets older, Madrid will eventually stop giving him new contracts, and Ronaldo will become the boy who cried United.

It was reported by French journalist Baptiste Ripart (h/t Football Espana) that Los Blancos were to pay €272 million (£240 million) to sign the France global this summer in a world-record deal.

Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta met with Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes last week while finalising the signing of another client, Portugal full-back Joao Cancelo.

The Portuguese superstar, 33, hinted at a potential Bernabeu exit following Real's 3-1 Champions League final victory over Liverpool at the end of May. He moved to Manchester United in 2003 before signing on with Madrid in 2009.

Meanwhile for Ronaldo, the Champions League was added to the Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup and Spanish Super Cup but Real faltered in domestic competitions.
