Epic will not reinstate Fortnite's Playground mode until next week

Some of the more inventive additions to Fortnite have been causing Epic a fair bit of trouble over the last month or so, and less than 24 hours after adding the Playground limited time mode into Fortnite, Epic have now removed it to try and resolve various issues. Drop in because that's exactly what Epic is doing from now until Monday, July 2nd, 2 AM EST players will earn an extra 100% bonus XP.

Representatives from the company described the unexpected mishap on Twitter and Reddit Thursday, saying, "So many of you rushed in to create and play that our matchmaking service fell over".

Just in-match an at the rocket at the correct time or you'll miss the one-time event.

But even more interesting is information posted by Fortnite dataminers Two Epic Buddies. Epic Games has finally acknowledged the launching of a missile with an in-game message.

Despite only being available in the game for a couple of days, Epic says it chose to disable Final Fight after listening to the community's feelings on the mode. "Once we have confirmed that our testing was successful we will begin gradually rolling servers out to all regions and platforms until it's available to all players".

"We've since separated the Playground matchmaker from the one that affects the default modes and made large improvements to assist with the number of players".

Resources gathered grant 10x the normal rate. It's been trying to get the mode back up and running over the past few days, but now it won't be playable until next week.

"We're testing all of this now, and we're working hard to get Playgrounds live again as soon as we think it's ready".
