Lewandowski dismisses story of child with Down syndrome separated from mother

A former campaign manager for Donald Trump has created a stir by dismissing a story about a girl with Down syndrome with a sarcastic "wah wah". But Lewandowski was unmoved, responding with a derisive "sad trombone" sound - "womp, womp!" as Josh Marshall of Talking Points Memo described it.

Anna Kendrick was short with her response, calling Lewandowski a "piece of sh*t" and Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn said, "This is who Trump has sticking up for him, and how". "How absolutely dare you, sir".

Fellow panelist Zac Petkanas, a former adviser on the Democratic National Committee, then became enraged, shouting as the interview descended into cross-talk.

Earlier Tuesday, a Mexican official said one of those children was a 10-year-old girl with Down syndrome. The girl and her brother were sent to a USA detention facility in McAllen, Texas, while their mother was sent an hour away to Brownsville, Videgaray added. Their father, a legal USA resident, is working with the United States consulate to get the girl released.

"Our consulate in McAllen is doing the gestures so that, in an immediate fashion, the girl is taken out of the shelter and is reunified with her father, who has the status of a legal resident", Videgaray said.

Videgaray called the policy of separating children from their families "cruel and inhumane" and said Mexico had a "moral responsibility" to speak out.

Among them was now Megan Kelly Today host, Kelly who tweeted out: "There is no low to which this coward Corey Lewandowski won't sink".
