Police investigating fatal shooting that killed NBA player’s brother

Roger Randolph, the brother of Sacramento Kings power forward Zach Randolph, was shot and killed early Saturday morning in Marion, Indiana, according to Anna Carrera of WTHR.

Marion police are investigating after a fatal shooting at Hop's Blues Room on South McClure Street.

Upon arrival, police found Roger Randolph with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Authorities pronounced the younger Randolph dead at the scene. Shell casings from two different caliber weapons were recovered at the scene.

Zach Randolph was at the club that night and was questioned, but he wasn't charged. Police say they do not believe it was a random act, but have not released information about suspects or motive, WTHR reports.

Roger was charged previous year with OWI, the IN equivalent of driving under the influence.

Our thoughts are with the Randolph family.

Zach Randolph led Marion High School to a state championship back in 2000. He is a two-time NBA All Star.

Zach Randolph grew up in Marion, which is about 60 miles (97 kilometers) northeast of Indianapolis.
