Antoine Griezmann Finally Makes Decision On His Future

Griezmann La decisión está tomada

The forward, 27, said he wanted to clarify his future before France's World Cup opener against Australia on Saturday.

Griezmann has remained coy about his future in recent weeks, but now, in a sensational TV programme in Spain named 'La Decision', he has announced that he will be staying at the Wanda Metropolitano beyond this summer.

France star Griezmann has always been linked with a move away from Atleti, with Barca holding talks with the 27-year-old's representatives in the latter stages of the 2017-18 season.

Links with Barca date to last summer, too, when they first realised Neymar was leaving for Paris Saint-Germain.

"Over the next days, both clubs will work to close the agreement for the definitive transfer". Luis Suarez spoke about a deal as if it was already done, Josep Maria Bartomeu confirmed meeting Griezmann's agent and Lionel Messi said he would welcome Griezmann at the club.

"They are making an effort to bring top players".

"I'm so happy. I really appreciate the club's confidence in me", Gimenez said in a statement.

Griezmann repeatedly laughed off questions regarding a potential move to Barcelona earlier this week before claiming at a French national team press conference that he made up his mind as to where he would be playing next season.

"And they have lost precious time waiting for today's decision/film/thingy".

Manchester United exhausted and failed to land him last year but the forward ended up signing a one-year contact extension with Atletico, tying him to the club until 2022.
