Hearn calls Wilder’s bluff on Joshua title fight

Anthony Joshua defeated Joseph Parker back in April

As evidence of the moneymaking potential, the Los Angeles Times' Lance Pugmire reported in May that Finkel and Al Haymon were prepared to give Joshua $50 million guaranteed if he was willing to fight Wilder in the United States.

US' Deontay Wilder has said he has agreed to have the unification fight with Britain's Anthony Joshua in the UK.

"We have agreed to the terms that Eddie has put out to us for a fight in the UK Deontay has accepted his terms to fight in the UK", Finkel said.

Wilder announced today that he accepted Joshua's offer to fight in the United Kingdom next up and has also given him the option of going to the USA too of $50 million.

Deas says, "They offered and we accepted".

Hearn has said that he is also close to a deal with Povetkin (34-1, 24 KOs), 38, of Russia, Joshua could fight both this year, and they were trying to figure out which order to do the fights, though Povetkin would be a risky fight before taking on Wilder for far more money.

If the fight is confirmed, it will be the biggest bout seen in the division in years.

And the fact that we've lost four weeks in waiting for an answer from Deontay Wilder makes the fight happening in 11 or 12 weeks of this magnitude unlikely. "We want the fight next, we've signed the contract and we're ready to go".

"We're going to dealing with that and making sure he gets the relevant paperwork". We've got to speak to them about what date suits them. It's up to them to choose USA or UK. Currently, Joshua is a -200 favorite and Wilder a +170 underdog.

Joshua told Independent.ie in March that he was keen to fight Wilder in his next fight and now it seems a deal has been done for what could be the richest fight in the sport's history. "But obviously this Canelo fight on September 15 makes it a little more hard with U.S. TV".

Joshua has won all but one of his fights by knockout as well, bringing a 21-0 record into the awaited megafight after first gaining widespread notoriety in his classic April 2017 match-up with Vladimir Klitschko where he added the WBA and IBO belts to his impressive list of accolades.

"People like to trash talk, but I do it in a more fun way unless it gets personal and then I'll give as good as I get".
