It's no longer down with Trump; it's f

Actor Robert De Niro took the stage at the 72nd Annual Tony Awards Sunday night to introduce his friend Bruce Springsteen - but his introduction took a slight detour.

MSNBC host Joy Reid posted her thoughts on Trump's relationship with his hometown, "Robert DeNiro's Trump F-bomb at the Tony Awards is Trump's relationship with New York City in a nutshell".

I'm going to say one thing: F*ck Trump.

The CBS television network, which was broadcasting the event live but with a delay of a few seconds, scrambled to bleep out De Niro's expletive.

Taking to the podium to address a crowd of reporters and dignitaries, De Niro addressed a recent storm of tweets by Trump calling Trudeau "weak" and "dishonest".

His comments came the day after he used an expletive to refer to Trump in a televised Tony Awards show in NY. After getting a standing ovation, he doubled down on the sentiment, saying, "It's no longer 'Down with Trump, ' it's 'F*** Trump'".

The actor apologized a day after he launched an expletive at Trump at the Tony Awards.

Mr. Scarborough added, "If people that applauded De Niro's statement last night don't understand that they are helping Donald Trump's re-election every time they do something like that, they don't understand".

De Niro received a standing ovation from many audience members. "Boy, do we need that now!"

The president called Trudeau "disgusting" and "weak" for how he pushed back against steep tariffs imposed by the US on steel and aluminum imports from Canada and other trade allies.

While on The View, Meghan McCain said: 'When you are talking about how Trump's degrading our national discourse with his language, this is not the way to combat Trump, it only helps him'. "Who's gonna argue with him?" he said.
