Le Graet: Fekir Has Passed Liverpool Medical

Although Lyon's dismissal may well be the result of some hard-bargaining from the French club, some figures are under the impression that Fekir's move to the Premier League is not dead yet.

One of the most hyped transfer sagas for the past few months is on the verge of reaching its conclusion, as Liverpool have finally managed to strike a deal with Nabil Fekir. "So time to negotiate new position".

However, several reliable British journalists have alluded to the fact that Liverpool tried to renegotiate a fee after picking up on an underlying knee injury during the player's medical and Lyon grew frustrated with the way negotiations were headed.

"Liverpool's interest exists, but for now nothing is done". He joins the list alongside the likes of Naby Keita and Fabinho with the Reds still being expected to continue their spending spree this summer.

The 20-year-old Reds attacker enjoyed a fruitful temporary spell in Belgium with Royal Excel Mouscron last season, netting 11 goals across all competitions.

The French outfit have not ruled out the possibility of Fekir moving to another European powerhouse though, provided that the price is right.

Fekir's dribbling ability and clinical edge has won him admirers across Europe, with Jurgen Klopp keen to add to his already impressive set of attacking options.

Steve Nicol, former Liverpool defender, believes that the Reds can still complete deal this summer, with it his view that where there is a will, there is a way. He was Ligue 1's second best dribbler previous year, which is a no mean feat considering the fact that the French top flight boasts some of the best up-and-coming dribblers.

Liverpool informed Lyon on Friday they were not going ahead as scheduled following Fekir's medical, despite a fee and personal terms being agreed.

The player had made it clear to his club that he wanted to depart, specifically to Liverpool.
