The thriller directed by John Krasinski has made US$169 million at the domestic box office.

"This was not the strongest weekend ever in terms of the official kick-off of the summer season, but we could be looking at a record May ultimately", Dergarabedian said, noting upcoming releases like "Deadpool 2" (May 18) and "Solo: A Star Wars Story" (May 25). Of course, this in large part due to Infinity War hitting China this past weekend, where it had a massive $200 million opening.

The Universal Pictures release is just the latest in a long string of successful collaborations with producer Will Packer, who also produced "Girl's Trip" and the "Ride Along" films. So the collections prove that Avengers has become bigger than the blockbusters of three Khans at the box office.

Although critics were not especially won over by "Overboard", audiences gave the film a more favorable A- CinemaScore.

Another new film, "Breaking In", a thriller starring Gabrielle Union, was third at $16.8 million. It made an estimated $6.4 million.

It's clear that Ms Marvel is one of those films that's on their agenda.

Additionally, Breaking In opened in five global markets this weekend with an estimated $1 million, including a fifth place finish in the United Kingdom with an estimated $609k. On Saturday, it became the second-fastest film to cross the $500 million mark at the domestic box office. This brings the estimated opening total close to $76 million. The World mode of Fortnite doesn't get any big updates like the Battle Royal one but Epic in this update introduced a new weapon in World mode which is called as the Hacksaw has been added, which Epic says is "best used when stationary, aiming down the sights and firing in short bursts".

Outside the top five, and landing in the top ten for the 13th consecutive week, is Disney and Marvel's Black Panther. "This is a second weekend number that many films would aspire to have on opening weekend". The release of DEADPOOL 2 should spell the end of records for AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR since I'm guessing DEADPOOL 2 has a much higher rewatchability factor than Infinity War. Additional releases include Paramount's Book Club into ~2,500 theaters; Global Road's animated release Show Dogs into approximately 3,000 theaters; and Focus will debut their documentary Pope Francis - A Man of His Word into ~350 theaters.
