Wenger predicts European rival to Premier League

"When you look at (Ainsley) Maitland-Niles, Iwobi, (Kostantinos) Mavropanos, Reiss Nelson, Joe Willock, if that's all they've got (on Arsenal's young players), I feel those players are good enough to go to the next level with somebody who is going to coach them and help them progress", Wright said.

One player that certainly looks like he would benefit from a new environment is Nigeria worldwide Alex Iwobi who, despite being set to star for his nation at the World Cup, has failed to impress thoroughly with the Gunners this season.

Arsene Wenger used his final press conference as Arsenal manager to ask his successor to respect the club's values and traditions once he is gone.

Arsene Wenger has predicted that a European Super League will ultimately replace the Premier League at weekends, with major domestic competition moving to weeknights.

"It will be hard but on the other hand I leave a club where I can be proud of what is behind me". First of all, to share money between the big clubs and small clubs will become a problem. Why?

Wenger says his successor can not be afraid to bring fresh ideas to Arsenal, who have missed out on Champions League qualification in each of the past two seasons.

"Because the big clubs will say that if two smaller clubs are playing each other nobody wants to watch it. People want to watch quality".

"To accept to commit to five years when you build the stadium and to work with restricted resources and keep the club in a position where we can pay our debts back".

Because the Champions League doesn't sell well anymore.

"If you want to make it (Premier League) more attractive you have to go down to 16 (teams) and make a real competition of it".

'There's a long learning process for controlling who you really are.

The Frenchman will take charge of Arsenal for the last time as his 22-year reign comes to an end with the Gunners' Premier League clash at Huddersfield this weekend.
