Apple iPhone 8 - FIVE reasons why it's good to go RED

Previously, in a leak, iPhone SE 2 was suspected to have an iPhone X-like design and later another rumor suggested that the device won't have the headphone jack. Part of the filing translates as "smartphone running iOS 11", which is being taken to be a strong suggestion that Apple is readying the iPhone SE 2 for launch.

I have repeatedly written about the broad trend in smartphone sales, which is an industrywide slowdown caused in part by people in established markets like the US holding onto their existing devices for longer.

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone SE 2 sometime in late May or during the company's annual World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) event which will begin June 4 and conclude June 8, 2018.

Furthermore, the back looks familiar with the latest generation of U.S. iPhones as it only includes the text "iPhone" and misses out the regulatory FCC logos.

Now some fresh renders of the Apple iphone SE 2 have appeared again to reveal a complete smartphone.

Why would anyone pay for a mid-segment iPhone SE 2 that looks like a six-year old iPhone 5? The second leak, the one about the 3.5-mm headphone jack will be contradictory to Apple's own decision to do-away with the port, but a welcome move, nonetheless. Those moves proved prescient when Apple announced that its December quarter iPhone unit sales had declined a tad from the year-earlier period, and its revenue forecast for the March quarter wasn't grand. The iPhone SE 2 will most probably have the same thick bezels that we have seen on the iPhones before the iPhone X happened. Both the iPhone 8 models are water and dust resistant and support Qi standard wireless charging. "We are proud to support (RED) with this bold new iPhone and hope customers think it is as special as we do", Greg Joswiak, Apple's Vice President of Product Marketing, earlier said in a statement. While the trend of large-screen displays was started by Android, Apple too slowly caught on, first with the iPhone 6 and later the "Plus" models. Meanwhile, the 64GB model of the iPhone 8 Plus comes with a price tag of Rs.77,560 and the 256GB variant costs Rs.91,110. However, separate reports suggest that the price could go as high as Rs 30,000.

That's why it has slashed the production of iPhone X to just 8 million units for the current quarter.
