Philadelphia Eagles CB Daryl Worley reportedly arrested, tased early Sunday morning

After all, Worley is only 23 years old and the Eagles were going to release Smith (29) anyway.

The Eagles on Sunday confirmed Worley's arrest and issued a statement that read, "We are in the process of gathering more information about Daryl Worley's arrest this morning".

Daryl Worley, who was acquired in early March by the Philadelphia Eagles, was arrested just before sunrise Sunday, with the NFL Network reporting that he had been found passed out in a vehicle blocking a highway in South Philadelphia. That's when police arrived and a confrontation unfolded, according to the report.

Per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the incident took place near the Eagles' team facility.

A gun was reportedly recovered on the scene, too.

Worley starred at Penn Charter before going to West Virginia.

Worley, who was drafted by the Panthers in the third round of the 2016 draft, had two interceptions and 49 tackles for Carolina last season.

Stay tuned for more details surrounding Worley's arrest.

Set to enter his third National Football League season, Worley was acquired from the Carolina Panthers this offseason for veteran wide receiver Torrey Smith. It doesn't sound good.
