Instagram rolls out new 'Focus' mode for incredible pictures, videos

Focus: Instagram's New Camera Format In Stories

This has been done to make your Instagram data tool portable and to make it as your download information tool.

The Facebook-owned photo and video-sharing social networking service Instagram has recently released a new feature called "Focus" to be used in Stories.

Instagram has been quite adamant about not letting you download or export your user data.

Instagram's Spokesperson has confirmed this to TechCrunch on Wednesday, "We are building a new data portability tool". In any case, you can add stickers, filters, and text to the video or image before sending it on its way to a friend on Instagram Direct or including it as part of a Story.

Photo and video-sharing app Instagram has received a new update to its camera. This would keep it in line with an impending privacy law in the E.U. This law stipulates that digital platforms allow for data portability.

Test it out and let us know what you think below.

Instagram has been insulated to the revenue drive of platforms like its parent company, Facebook, and WhatsApp, another sibling subsidiary.

However, with this new Instagram Focus feature, you can take portrait mode images within Instagram itself, avoiding the need to bounce from one app to the other. The details are scarce at this point, but we hope the company shares more details on the scenario. So far Instagram locked all the information uploaded to it, with no easy way to download any of it back. Earlier this month, Facebook revealed that as many as 87 million users had their personal data sold to a United Kingdom political consultancy that worked for Donald Trump's presidential campaign.

Although data portability seems like a really nice feature which supports public's privacy and their data protection, it might not do the same for Instagram itself.
