CWG 2018: Two Indian athletes suspended from Games

India’s Mary Kom stormed into the final of 48-kg category

He achieved the feat when he stormed his way into the gold medal with a Games record in the men's 25m rapid fire pistol event at the Belmont Shooting Centre. In the final, he overcame Wales' Kane Charig and notched up the required 10-point lead in a little over a minute.

Divya Kakran won bronze medal in the women's freestyle 68 kg by outplaying Bangladesh's Sherin Sultana 4-0, a victory by fall.

In second position is England with 31 gold, 34 silver, 34 bronze; India is in third spot with 17 gold, 11 silver, 14 bronze and Canada is fourth on 14 gold, 34 silver and 26 bronze.

Earlier, the Indian contingent who are now studded with 18 gold medals in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2018 have bettered their gold medal tally from the 2014 CWG that took place in Glasgow. For India dragflicker Harmanpreet Singh scored two goals in 29th and 57th minute. Three Indian boxers were assured of atleast a silver medal as Satish Kumar, Vikas Krishnan and Amit Panghal entered the finals of their respective events.

Suwaibidu Galadima, a Nigerian athlete at the 2018 Commonwealth Games has clinched another gold medal at the games, winning the men's T47 100m.
