Is former Miami Dolphins guard Richie Incognito retiring?

Report: Bills' Richie Incognito says he's going to retire

Bills guard Richie Incognito says he is retiring months after restructuring his contract with Buffalo.

Incognito posted the brief message shortly after Sports Illustrated reported the 34-year-old was "strongly considering retirement". The former Nebraska football star has been one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL while he played.

Incognito has also chimed in on his personal Twitter page, telling the NFL Players Association that he's done. It's been a long career.

In 2015, after serving a suspension for the bullying, Incognito did move to the Bills where he apparently finished out his career in the last three years. "That's it." Incognito added he is experiencing liver and kidney problems and is being affected by stress. Louis Rams in 2005, he was waived by the team in 2009, claimed by the Miami Dolphins, and suspended indefinitely in 2013 for his role in a bullying scandal involving teammate Jonathan Martin.

Incognito told Vic Carucci of the Buffalo News that his reason for retiring is medical. Incognito already restructured his contract earlier in March, so he's locked into a contract anyway.

Incognito, 34, has played 11 National Football League seasons, reaching the Pro Bowl in 2012 as a Dolphin and 2015, 2016 and 2017 as a Bill. "I just want to be in the Hall of Fame". Incognito said he approached Ngakoue at the Pro Bowl and apologized. For now, Richie Incognito's career is over.

Incognito earned three of his four Pro Bowl selections in Buffalo, and was considered among the Bills team leaders. Heading into his age-30 season, McCoy finds himself with a franchise that seems to be rebuilding, though the same thing was said a year ago and the Bills ultimately squeaked into the playoffs. Center Eric Wood retired due to a neck injury, while left tackle Cordy Glenn was traded to the Cincinnati Bengals.
