However, there has been talks for months about the possibility of the Seahawks moving on from their beloved cornerback at some point this offseason, and based off a recent report, these rumors could end up becoming a reality sooner rather than later. "Sherman is set to make $11.4 million this year and $11 million in 2018 before he becomes a free agent", the outlet reported.

It started with Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, who tweeted that Sherman has said goodbye to teammates over the past 24 hours.

ESPN's Josina Anderson quoted Sherman as saying: "I'm good".

Seahawks defensive back Jeremy Lane raised eyebrows Wednesday when he appeared to tweet about Sherman.

Sherman was scheduled to meet with Pete Carroll and John Schneider this week.

Sherman is the vocal leader of the Seahawks' defense that led Seattle to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances, including a Super Bowl XLVIII victory.

Kam Chancellor was less obvious with an Instagram post simply thanking Sherman for coming up with his nickname.

However, he played just nine games in 2017 before he suffered a season-ending ruptured Achilles tendon.

Last season, the Seahawks finished with a 9-7 record.

Like the Patriots did with the Revis deal, they would likely spread the salary cap charges over the course of two years and Sherman would enter free agency in 2019. Sherman had surgery on his other Achilles tendon recently.

Sherman also suffered the first significant injury of his career last season, tearing his right Achilles against Arizona on November 9 and ending his season, snapping a streak of 99 consecutive starts.
