Netflix's 'Lost in Space' Trailer Poses a Lot of Danger, Will Robinson

According to Netflix, "The Robinson family, part of a highly trained mission to establish a new colony in space, is unexpectedly pulled off course forcing them to crash land on a lost planet".

The release marks 50 years since the original sci-fi drama ended on CBS in 1968.

We still don't know a lot of the details, but based on the trailer, the series looks awesome!

In the video, Will become "the first human to discover evidence of alien intelligence", discovering a towering alien cyborg figure and bringing his newly discovered friend home to meet the family. The catchphrase, "Danger, Will Robinson", remains the same, however. However, in the new series Will's protector appears more explicitly extra terrestrial.

The last time that Netflix teased a video from the Robinson family was when the video-streaming service announced the premiere date, which is now set for April 13, 2018. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Zack Estrin called it "a true family adventure in the vein of the original Jurassic Park" and said it's created to appeal to both nostalgic fans of the original series and newcomers who might want something a little less campy in their science fiction. Check out the official synopsis below.

The original series was way back in 1965, but this version will be a modern retelling of the story. The revival follows the Robinson family, space colonists who "find themselves abruptly torn off course en route to their new home they must forge new alliances and work together to survive in a unsafe alien environment, lightyears from their original destination". The unsettlingly charismatic Dr. Smith played by PARKER POSEY (Café Society, Mascot, A Mighty Wind), is a master manipulator with an inscrutable end game. The cast also includes the aforementioned Posey plus Ignacio Serricchio as Don West.
