BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupe breaks cover

Extending on the new 8 Series and the respective concept version, the M8 Gran Coupe concept showcases a stunning four-door coupe design that's meshed with the performance tones we've come to expect from BMW M.

"The BMW 8 Series will take over as the new flagship model of the BMW line-up and, as such, combines unsurpassed sportiness and elegance".

See below the videos of the BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupe.

Since we're talking about a full-blown BMW M auto, the roof is made from CFRP, which helps lower the car's center of gravity both visually and physically.

The BMW 8-Series coupe and convertible are expected to debut later this year.

In the same way Range Rover's SV Coupe is trying to reach a new breed of buyer that wants something "different", BMW claims its Concept M8 Gran Coupe wants to appeal to people who want to stand out from the crowd. But among its many unique bold touches, the new concept receives more aggressive front air vents as well as yellow headlights featuring tech borrowed from the M8 GTE race auto. Moving along the side, the long wheelbase is evident with a short rear. "With this vehicle, BMW M unmistakably brings luxury out of the "comfort zone". Wider kidney grilles and flared air intakes make for an ultra-aggressive front end, a theme which continues throughout the design, culminating in a ducktail spoiler and quad exhausts at the rear of the vehicle. As on early BMW coupes, the kidney elements are linked by an unbroken grille surround, creating a large single element. The headlights sit higher than the kidney girlle, surrounded by gold trim and lighting technology is said to be similar to the M8 GTE race vehicle.

We do like the carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) use - the inlets, the roof panel are made of the lightweight composite - and we also dig the "Salève Vert" green paint, along with the aggressive shape of the trunklid spoiler.
