Danielle Herrington Makes 2018 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Cover

US model Kate Upton poses as she arrives to the 2016 Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Beverly Hills California

Tyra Banks is a SI Swimsuit legend as she was the first black woman ever to cover the magazine, alongside Valeria Mazza, in 1996 - followed by a solo cover in 1997.

The Needham native posed for the magazine's new "In Her Own Words" platform that hopes to showcase the "voice, the strength and the passion" of its models.

Herrington first appeared in the magazine's swimsuit issue past year. Raisman's chosen phrases included "fierce", "trust yourself", "live 4 you" and "women do not have to be modest to be respected". "The female body is handsome and we should all be proud of who we are, inside and out". "I am the 2018 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model", said Danielle.

Raisman is one of more than a 100 women who have come forth with allegations of sexual abuse against former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar.

"I believe that everyone is a survivor of something."

The model, who graced the coveted cover in 2016, is once again featured in the magazine's 2018 spread, modeling bikinis and showing off her curves on the Island of Nevis. Members of the camera crew can be heard yelling out of concern as soon as she tumbled off the rock.

KATE Upton is known for her curvy figure and incredible all-American girl looks.

Social commentators also weren't happy, expressing their dismay at the publication's new direction.

Of course, this doesn't mean the swimsuit issue is totally swimsuit free. "She's how I found out about Sports Illustrated", she told "GMA" co-anchor Michael Strahan.

On an unrelated note, how do we get that bloke's job? Other stars like Paulina Porizkova, Robyn Lawley, gymnast Aly Raisman, and Christie Brinkley's daughter, Sailor Brinkley Cook, also model in the photoshoot.

"This issue, this shoot, these personal and honest words are for you".
