RB Leipzig rule out Naby Keita move to Liverpool being brought forward

Klopp a closed book when asked about early Keita arrival

RB Leipzig announced Sunday that Naby Keita will not join Liverpool in the January transfer window.

RB Leipzig have confirmed that midfielder Naby Keita will not be allowed to join Liverpool until summer 2018.

The Guinea worldwide is set to link up with Liverpool from July 1 after the Premier League outfit agreed a big-money deal to sign him last August. Get the app and get the game.

Liverpool agreed a deal to sign Keita for £55million last summer, with the player not arriving at Anfield for another 12 months.

"We wish to put the speculation about a January move to Livepool to bed".

"As everyone knows, we are not a selling club", Ragnick stressed. It would only have been possible to reach a mutual agreement, if an exorbitant additional fee was involved.

The Bundesliga outfit do not want to lose Keita this month as they still remain in a battle to secure Champions League qualification for the next campaign and find themselves in the round-of-32 of this season's Europa League.

Unfortunately for The Reds, it would seem that their hopes of bringing Keita to the club in January are all but over, with Leipzig taking to their official Twitter page to reveal their stance on the proposed move. "Naby and his agent have also accepted this decision", Rangnick said.

"To go to the next level to compete with Chelsea, Man United and Man City, Liverpool need someone in the middle of the pitch who can open teams up and dictate tempo and play", Murphy told The Debate on Sky Sports.

The Guinea worldwide told The Mirror: "I want to become the best African player in the world".

"When I am on the field, I want to think that I am the best".
