MLB Agent Fired After Being Accused Of Filming Clients In The Shower

A baseball agent who had some high-profile Major League Baseball clients was fired following allegations that he filmed players while they showered

While Yahoo Sports couldn't corroborate the nature of the filming, sources confirmed the MLBPA is investigating allegations Wood (no relation to the ex-MLB player) recorded players at his St. Louis home.

The Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPLA) has suspended Wood, prohibiting him from representing any players while an investigation into the hidden camera allegations is held. Wood, who is unrelated to the former Major League Baseball first baseman of the same name, was sacked by the player who confronted him over the camera, according to Sports Illustrated.

The New York Post reported that Wood's clients included Red Sox star Andrew Benintendi, former Yankee David Phelps and the Rays' Jake Odorizzi.

It continued by saying that over the last 13 years he has worked to build his agency into a success through hard work and integrity. CSE president Danny Martoe excoriated Wood in a statement. "It's unfortunate that CSE Talent aligned itself with someone who didn't uphold these same standards and therefore we choose to terminate with cause Wood's employment".

Passan reported that Benintendi was among several players who have stayed with Wood in the offseason.

Apparently those standards include not secretly filming clients while they shower, because that's what Wood's been accused of. He added that he was disappointed there exists those who chose to spread harmful and irresponsible rumors.

"Jason only told a few guys about it", one agent said after talking with a number of Wood's clients.

Whatever the case, this story is absolutely weird.

"Everyone is jumping ship", another agent said.

It remains unknown which players may have been involved, though Wood represented many first-round picks in recent years.
