Seal Blasts Oprah, Hollywood For 'Sanctimonious' Hypocrisy On Weinstein

NATION-NOW Steven Spielberg If Oprah Winfrey runs for president 'I will back her' Steven Spielberg ready to back Oprah candidacy

A White House spokesman said Monday the Trump team would welcome Winfrey's candidacy, or that of anyone else.

It does a disservice to Oprah and voters to say that this speech about people telling their own stories is an indication that she would be a good fit for President of one of the most influential countries in the world.

When Oprah Winfrey delivered a moving speech about sexual harassment and power at the Golden Globes last Sunday, one of the instant responses was a very loud discussion about whether she might run for president.

If Seal has anything to say about, it she won't.

Professor of Security and Diplomacy at RMIT, Joseph Siracusa, had little doubt of the result.

President Trump said he would beat Oprah Winfrey in the 2020 presidential election.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders also had her take an an Oprah run.

Professor Siracusa said Winfrey's odds of a presidential win were shorter than Mr Trump's at the start of his campaign.

And in a 1999 interview with Larry King, he said she would be "always be my first choice" for a running mate.

Some of Winfrey's confidants have been privately urging her to run, the sources said.

She also clarified a comment made by Winfrey's partner Stedman Graham when he told reporters after this year's Golden Globes ceremony that she would "absolutely" run.

"Does it translate into votes and effective legislation?" If she declares, I will back her.

I think she's been a plausible candidate at least since 2008 when she stumped for Barack Obama in the south, in the primary and possibly even longer than that.

As some political strategists have pointed out in the past year, her fame and wealth could make her a formidable Democratic Party candidate. Would she really want old controversies from her show and girls school rehashed? King confirmed as much on CTM, saying, "I was up talking to her very late last night".

Even First Daughter Ivanka Trump tweeted that her speech was "empowering & inspiring". Politicians are scrutinized down to their every move, and Oprah running for president will not shield her of that perusal. "This is the Oprah Winfrey, the Oprah I had here this morning - that's what I want". "I think it was a homerun on many levels". "I do think this though guys, I do think she's intrigued by the idea, I do think that".
