YouTube responds to disturbing Logan Paul video

Logan Paul is at the center of a You Tube controversy

Almost a week after American YouTube Logan Paul faced a severe backlash for posting a video showing an alleged suicide victim, YouTube has tweeted out an open letter condemning the move.

"Many of you have been frustrated with our lack of communication recently", YT started a series of tweets. The highly edited video, which showed the body and the onlookers' reactions, was viewed by millions globally before being removed.

YouTube officials said in the post, "Suicide is not a joke, nor should it ever be a driving force for views".

"In light of recent events, we have chose to remove Logan Paul's channels from Google Preferred", said a YouTube spokeswoman in a statement.

22-year-old YouTube star Logan Paul's next movie - which was supposed to debut on the platform's YouTube Red subscription service - is getting put on hold, following Paul's posting of a notorious video featuring a dead body, YouTube confirms with Business Insider. While none of these steps will stop Paul from vlogging or even advertising on his channel, it will certainly affect the amount of money and exposure his brand makes going forward. He later issued two apologies and announced that he would be suspending his vlog temporarily to "take time to reflect".

In a previous apology, a video titled "So sorry", Paul, who according to Forbes earns £110,000 per Facebook post and £59,000 for sponsored Instagram posts, said: "I've made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgement and I don't expect to be forgiven".

"YouTube's tweets about Logan Paul are total hypocrisy", wrote singer-songwriter Sebastiano Serafini. they could temporary block his account while they are deciding what to do. "You do not walk into a suicide forest with a camera and claim mental health awareness",' the post read. The vlogger could face further consequences, given his channel violated YouTube's community guidelines.

Commenting on the company's delayed response, it added: "It's taken us a long time to respond, but we've been listening to everything you've been saying".
