The Weeknd Cuts Ties With H&M Over Offensive Photo

H&M has been accused of racism after it featured a young black boy in a

If you didn't already hear, H&M dived headfirst into the deep-end of the problematic pool and photographed a black child model in the hoodie "coolest monkey in the jungle".

Popular fashion retailer H&M has been labeled "racist" and "irresponsible" after recently featuring a photo of a black child wearing a "coolest monkey in the jungle" hoodie on its United Kingdom website.

Consumers took to social media after discovering the offense on the retailer's website and blasted the clothing retailer for being "racist" and more.

A generic photo of the hooded sweatshirt without the modelling child is still available online.

"We sincerely apologize for this image", said an H&M spokesperson. "We will thoroughly investigate why this happened to prevent this type of mistake from happening again".

Along with The Weeknd, the company also caught heat from Questlove who called them out on Instagram.

H&M was forced to remove an ad after getting complaints about a childrens sweatshirt for sale.

"We completely understand and agree with his reaction to the image".

The Weeknd said he is severing ties with H&M after it advertised a sweatshirt many said was racist. We will also look into our internal routines to avoid such situations in the future.

The statement was nearly verbatim from other verbiage contained in what appeared to be the company's marketing manifesto.

"We apologise to anyone this may have offended".

Introduced with the line "Ready for a Dove Shower?" the post showed a looping image of a black woman removing a dark brown t-shirt to reveal a white woman.
