Philadelphia 76ers trade Jahlil Okafor to Nets

76ers trade Jahlil Okafor, Nik Stauskas to Brooklyn for Trevor Booker

After completely falling out of the rotation, former No. 3 overall draft pick Jahlil Okafor wanted out of Philadelphia.

According to ESPN's Zach Lowe, the Philadelphia 76ers have agreed with the Brooklyn Nets on a deal that would send the third-year center to NY for Trevor Booker.

Philadelphia 76ers forward Jahlil Okafor is finally getting his wish. Shams Charania of The Vertical confirmed the deal, and included that the Sixers will get veteran big man Trevor Booker back in return. Last season, Booker averaged 10 points and 8 rebounds but did so in only 24 minutes of action. After an impressive rookie season, his minutes declined in the 2016-17 season and he has only played in two games this season as the third option at center behind Joel Embiid and Amir Johnson. He now joins D'Angelo Russell, the No. 2 pick in that draft, on a Nets roster with some intriguing young talent. Okafor asked for a trade or a buyout, and the situation has dragged through the first two months of the National Basketball Association season.

"I know it's business, but in my eyes, I don't know if it's good business". During his career, Booker has spent the majority of his years as a backup with averages of 7.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per, but it's been his play while in Brooklyn that has turned heads.

At minimum, starting or coming off the bench, Okafor should play a fair amount for the Nets.
