Kevin Durant, DeMarcus Cousins Ejected Amid Testy Warriors-Pelicans Tussle

Warriors overcome first half slumber with late blitz to stun Anthony Davis-less Pelicans

The good news for the reigning National Basketball Association (NBA) champions Golden State Warriors is that they overcame a 21-point deficit on Monday night and posted a gritty 125-115 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Advocate also confirmed extra security was brought in to keep Cousins and Durant apart after the game. "He's got to be able to understand that teams can't physically play him inside, so they're going to do everything they can to emotionally get him off his game".

The Warriors had trailed by 21 points just before halftime before a 15-0 third-quarter run and a double-double from Stephen Curry put the top-heavy Pelicans away and improved Steve Kerr's team to 19-6 this season.

"Every time I get ejected, I make sure it's late in the game", Durant told reporters after the game, according to the Athletic.

Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry said that he's talked to Cousins about his technical fouls and the team will do everything it can to make sure the star big man stays on the court.

We wait to see how the National Basketball Association deals with this and if they'll punish Durant and Cousins any more than just their ejections from the game. Here, it looks like Cousins almost head butts Durant.

In the final minutes, Cousins and Durant were ejected after both were involved in a shouting match with each other and game officials. "We're not composed out there".

"I thought (the ref) just threw us out pretty quick, to be honest", Durant said, via ESPN.com. Durant is doing too much to show the league, he isn't a cupcake and a softy. We have to be poised and we have to execute out there. We're just talking, getting into it....it's a heated matchup, it was a heated conversation.

Though the Warriors didn't carry their momentum into the fourth quarter, they did play bucket-for-bucket with New Orleans and finally took their first lead of the half on an Andre Iguodala transition dunk with eight and a half minutes to play.
