LaVar Ball Reportedly Removes LiAngelo Ball From UCLA

However, LaVar Ball questioned the extent of Trump's involvement in securing his son's release from Chinese custody during a combative 20-minute CNN interview.

LaVar Ball's son, Lonzo, played one season at UCLA before being selected with the second overall pick of the 2017 draft by the Los Angeles Lakers.

As you know, LiAngelo was indefinitely suspended from the team after he stole from several stores during a trip to China. After pleas by President Donald Trump and the US State Department, Ball, and two other freshmen players at UCLA, were allowed to leave the country, and had the charges dismissed. "So basically they're in jail here", Ball added.

Reporter Zach Baron wrote that LaVar Ball was referring to LiAngelo Ball, his middle son. "If I was going to thank somebody I'd probably thank President Xi (Jinping)", LaVar Ball said to CNN's Chris Cuomo.

The 18-year-old has not appeared in any games for UCLA in his short career.

It might be hard to play for another school considering the distraction that accompanies his father. Currently, there's no telling how LiAngelo being pulled from the Bruins' program might affect LaMelo's commitment or if LaVar even wants to honor that commitment at this point.

Ball told ESPN he hasn't decided where LiAngelo will play this season. "The plan is now to get Gelo ready for the NBA Draft". By playing for a European team, he would at least have the opportunity to receive a decent salary and gain enough experience to improve his chances of playing in the National Basketball Association.
