Capcom Finally Announces Mega Man 11 For Modern Platforms

While there's no dates yet, today's a great day for Mega Man fans to celebrate the game's anniversary.

The game is scheduled to be released sometime in late 2018 for the PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch platforms.

This will present you with the chance to play all 10 games in the numbered Mega Man series, before the next game lands late next year.

While the series is known for its lovely pixel art, Mega Man 11 will be the firt classic game in the series to use 3D character models.

More than 32 million copies of Mega Man games have been sold since it debuted on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987.

Before then, both the Mega Man Legacy Collection and Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 will be making their way to Nintendo Switch spring 2018, just in time for Nintendo owners to become acquainted with the series before the release of the new game.

The first game in the franchise was initially released on December 17, 1987 for the Nintendo, but the next one will be released for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

A "freshly redesigned" Mega Man will hoping to overcome Dr Wily's machines, defeat Robot Master bosses, and make use of their weapons.

It's been seven years since Mega Man 10, the last mainline entry featuring the blue bomber. Luckily, humanity has Mega Man X and his partner, Zero, fighting on their side.

The anniversary celebrations don't stop with the thrilling announcement of Mega Man 11!

Mega Man is a big part of gaming culture. You can check out a first trailer for the game, below. Capcom will also introduce a Rewind feature to the games, letting players undo short-term mistakes.

For 3 decades now, Mega Man has been THE character at Capcom that has brought the most joy to their fans, as well as pay for a lot mortgages in the process.
