Instagram Hates When Selena Gomez Takes Break From Social Media

Selena Gomez shared this

Selena attended the 2017 Billboard Women in Music event this week and accepted her award, giving a very emotional speech.

"To be honest, I think Francia should be getting this award because she saved my life", Gomez said before breaking down in tears.

Gomez nearly immediately teared up after accepting the award from Raisa, saying she saved her life.

After pausing for a moment to gather her thoughts, she continued: "I feel incredibly lucky". "Honestly, I couldn't be more grateful for the position I've been given in my career".

Gomez revealed on Instagram in September she had received a kidney transplant, explaining she had not been able to promote her music over the summer as, "I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my lupus and was recovering".

She's proud of her transplant scar. Honestly, that whole experience made me look at life a little differently.

The actress, singer and producer has been vocal about taking the time to step away from social media in the past to focus on her mental and physical health, and in a new interview she expands on that practice. In the issue, she opened up about her split from The Weeknd and reconnecting with Justin Bieber. "I don't think I've ever just stopped and been like, 'I'm actually grateful for who I am, '" she said. "I have the best people around me and I am surrounded by good people, but at the end of the day, you're the one that's gotta pick yourself up sometimes and I really feel like I've done a lot of work to do that". That was it and I didn't want to ask a single person in my life.
