Big Ol' Scott Frost-Nebraska News Drops While He's Coaching UCF Game

Central Florida head coach Scott Frost waves to fans as he takes the field before an NCAA college football game against South Florida in Orlando Fla. Nebraska fans are gearing up for what to them seems to be the

Bleacher Report's Lars Anderson reported on Friday that he's already begun to put together his coaching staff and is looking at houses in Lincoln.

Nebraska hiring Frost has to be one of the most obvious coaching hires we will see this season, with Dan Mullen to Florida worth your consideration as well. The Knights, which are now 12-0, were 0-12 in 2015 before he took over. Defense was optional, but two teams that entered the game ranked No. 1 and No. 2 nationally in scoring more than lived up to the billing.

Ferguson completed his first 12 attempts, including a 68-yard touchdown pass to Antony Miller that gave Memphis its first lead 28-24 with 4:13 left in the first half.

The new Husker coach also played six seasons in the National Football League for four different teams. The Knights had 603 total yards in their September win over the Tigers.

When Memphis took a 31-24 lead into the locker room at halftime, it looked like the ideal season might be in jeopardy. Both teams had over 30 first downs, both teams rushed for over 200 yards and both teams passed for over 400 yards (471 for Memphis' Riley Ferguson, 494 for UCF's McKenzie Milton). The Knights subsequently threw an interception, and the game went to overtime. It is the Knights' third AAC crown in the past five years. UCF answered with a four-play drive for the score.

Add his performance to those of teammates Anthony Miller (14 catches, 195 yards, 3 touchdowns), Darrell Henderson (15 rushes, 109 yards, 1 TDs) and Sean Dykes (3 catches, 161 yards) and Memphis provided a recipe for a fantastic conference championship game despite the fact UCF blew out Memphis the first time the two teams matched up this year. With the kind of buzz surrounding Frost right now, that should not be much of a problem at Nebraska.
