Burgundy Red Galaxy S8 launched in Korea

Samsung Galaxy S9

Back at the beginning of November, Samsung introduced a brand new color variant of its flagship Galaxy S8 called Burgundy Red. Later, it will be rolled out to select global markets.

Samsung took to its official blog to reveal the new colour model, announcing that it will be available in its home region of South Korea first, but will subsequently rollout to other markets in the coming weeks.

Motorola's Moto Z2 Play is one of the most highlighted smartphones from the company. It's already available in Midnight Black, Coral Blue, Orchid Gray, Arctic Silver, and Maple Gold colors.

Based on the recently leaked photos of Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018), the mid-range smartphone will have thinner bezels compared to its predecessor, giving way for an nearly edge-to-edge Infinity Display. This look is a bit more understated than the Solar Red HTC U11, but as you can see in the image above, that doesn't mean the Galaxy S8 looks any less striking.

The report notes that Samsung may release some details about the handset at CES in January, but GalaxyClub says the Galaxy S9 should be unveiled in February or March and hit stores in late March or early April. The smartphone features the same 5.8-inch QHD+ Infinity Display panel with the Gorilla Glass 5 protection at the front and rear. Screen resolution of the mobile device is 2960 1440 pixels.

The smartphone makes use of a Snapdragon 835 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space that can be further expanded with the help of a microSD card as there is a hybrid SIM slot on board.

The smartphone runs on the Android 7.0 Nougat and is powered by a 3000mAh battery.
