5 criminals held with arms & ammo post encounter at Dwarka Mor

At least five criminals were arrested by Delhi and Punjab police in a shootout at Dwarka Mor Metro Pillar 768 on Tuesday morning.

The Punjab Police today received a tip-off about the presence of notorious criminal Deepak alias Tinu alias Ravi in the house.

According to the Newspaper, . They used a makeshift ladder and hanging bed sheets that were found tied to the back window of the second-floor hideout, said police.

The exchange of fire took place inside a house in which six suspected members of a gang active in Punjab had been hiding for a month.

No one was injured in the firing even though the shootout happened in a residential area, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) - southwest Shibesh Singh.

The police team recovered 12 pistols along with 100 bullets.

A criminal wanted for murder in Punjab escaped while two others were arrested after a gunfight with the police here on Tuesday.

Umesh, who works for a private firm and lives near the metro station, said he was headed to work when he saw a man in plain clothes sprint with a sophisticated weapon in his hand. He said that right before the firing started, three vehicles full of policemen had arrived outside the building.

Metro train halt at the Dwarka Mor metro station was suspended temporarily because of the ongoing encounter. Further investigation is under process.
