Real Madrid's Gareth Bale suffers another injury setback

The sadly familiar sight of a forlorn Gareth Bale dominated Spain's sports pages on Saturday after the Real Madrid star suffered the latest in a series of injury setbacks.

The Welsh worldwide resumed team workouts at the end of last week after recovering from an injury suffered during the Blancos' 3-1 Champions League away win over Borussia Dortmund on September 26, reports Efe.

That's according to Spanish news outlet Don Balon who say Florentino Perez has had Bale's declining stats analysed.

The Portugal global has demanded that Zidane doesn't bring Bale into his starting XI for Real's next game against Atletico Madrid.

Bale, who joined Real for a then-world record £86million fee in 2013, has been sidelined since September 26 due to a calf injury but returned to full training last week.

Bale, 28, has only made nine appearances in all competitions this season, and was expected to face Atletico, until a setback in training.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho conceded before the start of the season the Red Devils would "wait for him" should Bale ever be discarded by Real.

Bale has struggled to find form having been plagued by injuries.

It is not just an issue that has affected Bale just this year.
