The New Apple Pay Cash: How It Works, How It Stacks Up

The New Apple Pay Cash: How It Works, How It Stacks Up

In the search bar, the user has to type an uppercase "I", whereas in the Shortcut section they can add in the phrase section the lowercase "i".

Some Apple users have discovered a bug that automatically corrects the lower-case letter "i" to "A" and a question mark symbol.

Apple is blaming the most recent IOS update for the glitch.

Apple said on its fix page that the problem will be fixed in a future software update, although no timeframe is given on when that may be. The workaround involves using the autocorrect Text Replacement feature in iOS.

Every transaction requires verification, either through Face/Touch ID or password entry, and the full version of this new update will arrive when iOS 11.2 is released for all iPhone users later this year.

You'll need to be running the second beta of whichever OS you're using (iOS 11.2 or watchOS 4.2), and that includes the iOS public beta.

The technical glitch comes at a bad time for Apple. Some users have reported that a lower-case "I" character is appearing in the emoji picker, while others are seeing the odd unicode character where a normal "I" is written.

Here the user can resort to text replacement.

"We see this a great enhancement to those interactions by simply being able to pay each other using Messages and the payments capability that's we've built into iOS (with) Apple Pay", Bailey says. Posts such as "iOS 11.1 freaking sucks, it really kills battery life". The site also reports that you can initiate Apple Pay Cash payments in Siri and Contacts, as well.
